Head of School Newsletter: August

PFM Families,

This summer is sure moving quickly! We have enjoyed some fun field trips so far with the preschool classes, and August brings many more. We have our annual visit in August from Reptile Man at PFM and later, we will travel to Volunteer Park to play in the wading pool and have a picnic lunch. We also get to visit a fire station this month and have bubble man come to our school!

In August, Brody Zugschwerdt moves on up to North Preschool and has already been playing with the preschoolers outside each day. He is so ready to take on this new challenge – go Brody! North Preschool also welcomed a new friend named Dutcher Connell. He is doing amazing and is already fitting right in to his new school. Way to go Dutcher! We can’t wait to watch you learn and grow here at PFM. There aren’t a lot of transitions this month as we are in a bit of a holding pattern until the new school year begins. Then we will have many children moving on up to the toddler room and to preschool and new babies joining our infant room.  Exciting times at PFM!

Sadly this month, we did say goodbye to Aria Gupta and her family as they moved to San Francisco and at the end of the month we will say goodbye to Camilla Kinyon, Grace and Mikey Sullivan. We will miss you guys so much – be sure to be our pen pals!

At the end of July, the lead teachers and I went on our annual teacher retreat. This year it was at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, WA. It was so wonderful to be able to have time outside of work to bond and discuss and plan ways to create an even better community for our children, teacherss and families. I am so proud of this team and know you will be this year, too!

Warmest regards,

Teddi Blades
